The Official Bryan Talbot fanpage / The Bryan Talbot Gallery Guide

The Bryan Talbot Textgallery: number 5.

This is a text only guide to the images on the site of Bryan's: I have created it so that there is more than one way to browse the images and you can choose whichever method suits you best. Also in the Textgallery series is Textgallery Six, Textgallery Five, Textgallery Four, Textgallery Three, Textgallery Two and Textgallery One; alternatively, there are the thumbnail galleries, and the best list of those are on the gallery guide page; and finally for those that just want to see the images with minimum hassle then there is a single page with a link to every image on the site in the image page navigator.

On this page, there are links to the images from wallpaper gallery. Bryan suggested that I add to the site a list of all of the complete strips that are on it, and the strip listing is the result.

  But the Goths are sick!
One of Bryan's images from Nemesis the Warlock used on a t-shirt for a new electro-punk band.
  Fables spread
A two page spread by Bryan for the upcoming Fables comic: in medium and very large sizes.
  The Nazz
A picture of the Nazz, from the cover of Speakeasy in 1990.
An illustration of a wizard from a role playing game.
  Bryan Talbot self portrait
Bryan painted this self protrait to say Happy 25th annivsary to the Gijon comics festival.

Ragnarok was a project started by Bryan when he was approached by the animation company looking for ideas. He put them in touch with the then unknown writer Alan Moore who created the character and story. Bryan then designed the character and did the cover and logo artwork (which, by the way, was never returned so if you see it give us a shout). The animation artwork was done by a variety of young up and coming artists and featured Mike Collin's first professional work.

Because this image is a video cover there are two pages: one of the entire cover (which is a page that's a lot wider than normal!) and one showing the front cover only.

  The Endless
A private commission of the Endless
  Bart and Homer Simpson
Yup - that's right - Bart and Homer Simpson!
A publicity still from the upcoming live action Octobriana movie.
  The Endless - version two
Another private commision of the Endless, this time in a feudal Japanese style. Also see this Endless image in a full coloured format.
  The Endless - animation
Animation of the first Endless image dissolving into the second Endless image.

  Arkwright in Tibet

This is a special treat: never before seen: the first panel of Arkwright in Tibet, the whole picture, behind the panels and off the page.

Clicking on the image goes to a mid sized version: but there is also a HUGE version online: but beware the horizontal scrolling and large download!

  Alice in Sunderland
This is a sneak preview of what Bryan is currently working on... I will post more info here on the site - in particular the news page - as soon as Bryan releases it....

A fellow fan emailed me this set of four pics by Bryan, with a note saying:

"I don't know if you'd be interested in the attached for your site. Bryan did some cover work in the early '80s for a UK published series which collected together classic DC comics superhero reprints. If the quality of these scans is a bit dodgy it's because the comics themselves are a bit elderly and well read. I'm afraid I can't do much about the text boxes either... sorry! Hope they're useful."

The first of these is of Batman.

  Batgirl and Supergirl
Another of the pics mailed to me, this time of Batgirl and Supergirl.
  Green Arrow
Another of Bryan's early '80's pieces for DC, of Green Arrow.
  Hawkman and Batman
The last one of Bryan's work for DC from the early '80's, of Hawkman and Batman.
Arzach, the pterodactyl riding character created by Moebius, as drawn by Bryan.
  Dongo Dere
Don't go there Donald! - get it?!
  The Gentleman Ghost
The Gentleman Ghost as drawn by Bryan for the Hawkman Secret Files.
  Mallard Arkwright

Bryan simply sent this to me with a note saying "a sketch for a fan!" - it's a picture of Luther as a duck! Now there MUST be a story behind this... if whoever requested this from Bryan wants to tell me it, I will gladly publish it here!

Fan Art gallery

These are two pages from Argentinean cartoonist Ricardo Liniers' comic journal of his European tour covering his time in Lisbon during the recent Amadora festival, featuring cameo appearances of Bryan: see page one and page two.
Dylan Meconis picture of Helen Potter
Dylan Meconis drew this pic of Helen Potter from the Tale of One Bad Rat, giving a windup rat a somewhat ironic look.
  Luther by Nick
Here's Luther by Nick Neocleous (publisher/editor of GRAPHIC EYE)
  Rat Tattoo
A fan got a sketch of Bryan's tattoed on her arm!
  Luther by Andrea
An image of Luther by Italian animator Andrea Spader
  First page of Borderliners
The is the first page of a new comic called Borderliners; Ceremony of Innocence - which is also a conscious homage to the first page of the Adventures of Luther Arkwright.

Thumbnail Gallery Sixteen

  Midnight Lamp
The frontispiece to Midnight Lamp - the next book in Gwyneth Jones' Bold As Love series - due out in early summer from Gollancz.
  Censored Fables panel!
Bryan's issue of Fables (#11) is now on sale. "Adult" DC imprint Vertigo has unaccountably had a section of the above panel crudely redrawn so as to censor the illustration!
Spanish edition of Heart of Empire.
The Spanish edition of Heart of Empire is coming out in three volumes: this is the cover to issue one, issue two and issue three.
  Alan Moore tribute
Bryan has drawn a tribute to Alan Moore for an upcoming book.
  Spanish edition of Arkwright
The advert to the upcoming Spanish edition of the Adventures of Luther Arkwright.
Bryan's charity art for Comics 2003
Every year the annual UK comics convention holds a charity auction, and this is Bryan's entry for 2003: a sketch of Luther Arkwright.
  Bryan's cover for Sinclair User
Bryan drew this cover of the Running Man this many years ago, and never received the artwork back!
  Alice in Sunderland
Bryan's next project is Alice in Sunderland: here on the site we have previews of page 6 and page 39 and also the frontispiece.
